moon journal
Working notes, newest first. I write these for me, so they're honest, including the nights nothing happened.
harvest moon behind clouds
2026.09.27
Full moon last night. Clouds all evening, so I charged my water by the window and called it good enough. I've stopped believing the moon needs to see the jar. It's up there whether I can see it or not.
Did a gratitude list instead of a spell. Eleven things. Number seven was "the neighbour's cat stopped screaming at 3am", which I'm counting as a blessing.
mabon and the apple jar
2026.09.22
Equinox. Cut an apple across the middle to show the star inside, which never stops being delightful. (Genesis never actually says the fruit was an apple. I think about that every time.) Filled a jar with the seeds, a cinnamon stick and a bay leaf with "enough" written on it. Not "more". Enough.
The jar sits on the kitchen shelf until Samhain.
the black moon walks into capricorn
2026.09.14
Black Moon Lilith moved into Capricorn today by the mean reckoning, and she'll stay until around June. Nine months in the sign of ladders, bosses and reputations.
Lit her black candle and wrote a page about ambition: the things I want and have been embarrassed to say out loud. Burned the page. Kept the list of three I could actually say to a friend.
new moon, almost skipped
2026.09.11
Nearly didn't bother. Tired, grumpy, sink full of dishes. Lit one tealight, wrote one intention, went to bed. That's a whole ritual. The version of practice that fits a bad day is better than the perfect version I don't do.
Intention was about finishing things. Look at me, finishing this website.
Older entries are still in paper notebooks. I'll type them up slowly.
